Our Commitment
We started making music together during our years at UPRM -- Colegio! We are artists, engineers, scientists, educators with a passion for music and a commitment to deliver quality performances wherever we go.
Perpetually On Tour
Although we've been performing at events for over 15 years, we started doing so actively and professionally 7 years ago. We constantly find ourselves traveling to San Juan, Río Grande, Aguada, Ponce, Mayagüez and everywhere in between.

THE PROCESS
How Does Booking Work?

Get in Touch!
Contact us with event date, venue, and the ensemble(s) you're interested in. Out of these, the event date is the most important detail we require; the rest are needed in order for us to give you an accurate estimate of the total cost.

Receive Quote
If we're available, we will email you a quote for our services and temporarily save the date while you evaluate our proposal. We're typically able to hold on to the date for 2-4 weeks, so make sure to keep us updated and let us know if you need more time.

Agreement
If you're interested in booking with us, we can arrange to meet and sign the contract in person, or we can sign it electronically for convenience. A deposit is required in order to reserve the date.

Share Your Song Requests
Consider what songs, artists, or styles of music mean the most to you. Browse our repertoire and let us know if we're missing your favorites. Feel free to either send us a list or prepare a playlist!

Relax
As soon as we know the kind of music you want, we'll start listening to, preparing, and rehearsing arrangements for any new songs while you count down the days.

Confirm Details
As we get closer to the date, we will reach you (or your event planner) to confirm details such as music start time, performance area, availability of power outlets, chairs, parking for the event, and number of guests.

Celebrate!
Once the big day arrives -- smile broadly! Have peace of mind knowing we'll be entertaining your guests as they arrive and wait for the ceremony to begin. Enjoy the day, dance, laugh out loud or get emotional, and get busy creating memories with your family while we provide the soundtrack to your special day.

One of the first details we knew we wanted to add to our wedding experience was having string instruments playing before the ceremony and during our cocktail hour without loosing the vibrant and joyful feeling of the occasion. Cuerdas^n’s repertoire managed to balance the romance of a violin and cello duo with the energy of modern music beautifully. When I hear their songs on our wedding video I still get chills.

Their wide variety of group compositions from a piano trio to a string quartet is wonderful to be able to choose from. The huge amount of songs in their repertoire including so many different genres made it extremely easy to find a bunch of songs we wanted. They will also learn some songs just for your special day. They displayed extreme professionalism in their ability to play through a slight delay in our ceremony. It was the perfect thing to take away from the awkwardness of the moment. We loved them and want everyone to experience an event they are playing.

Cuerdas is one of those decisions that you look back and realize your wedding wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't for them. When it came to responsiveness and professionalism, I wish I could give more than five stars. Susana & Karl were the most detailed oriented, friendly, professional musicians we could have asked for. When the event started, they preformed flawlessly! They did both the ceremony and cocktail hour and brought their vast experience and unrivaled talents to make our wedding exactly what we had hoped it would be! If you are getting married and get the opportunity to hire them, you would not be disappointed. They exceeded our expectations for so many reasons. One that quickly comes to mind was the learning of a few new songs I had requested just a few weeks before our wedding. I also believe they are by far the best value in wedding musicians!

K+I Cuerdas(n) Review
Cuerdas did an amazing job at out wedding for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We unfortunately did not have time to talk to them in person on the day of our wedding but they were easy to communicate with leading up to the wedding day and we heard lots of compliments from guests. They also have an EXTENSIVE repertoire for you to choose from to fit all vibes/themes. They added a special touch to our day, we only wish we (the bride and groom) could have enjoyed them a little more but it was such a busy day.

Amazing music and incredibly knowledgeable musicians
We hired Cuerdas to perform at several events for our wedding in San Juan, including the ceremony. They were exceptional--their music was incredibly beautiful and they played a great mix of covers (Spanish and English), classical music and jazz that the attendees enjoyed. They also made choosing songs easy and made everything as easy as could be. Hire them!

Cuerdas^n are honestly so talented! I didn’t want them to leave hehe. They have a huge list of songs to choose from, for example we are starting wars/game of thrones / Harry Potter fans and they had some of the songs !! Amazing. I wish I could’ve had someone record their entire performance so I can go back and watch them/listen to them. Hire them! You won’t regret it

Completely enhanced our special day!
We were introduced to Cuerdas by our wedding planner Merylin Andino and from our very first communication they were professional, accom dating, and all around amazingly talented people. We hired them to play live music during our ceremony and cocktail hour and did i mention they they are amazingly talented. I sent over a few specific songs that I wanted to have them play they executed perfectly. They completely enhanced our special day and I would recommend them without hesitation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book you?
For better chances regarding our availability, we strongly recommend reaching out to us (or any of your preferred vendors, for that matter) about a year in advance. Most clients contact us 9-10 months before the event date. This is especially important if you're planning a Saturday afternoon event. Even if you're not looking to book right away, we might be able to pencil you in.
Do you provide your own sound equipment / PA system? Can we use it for our wedding ceremony?
Yes, sound equipment is included in most of our packages. We are able to set up speakers, wireless microphones as well as a microphone stand if needed. We are typically able to accomodate sound for audiences of up to 150 (outdoor events) or 200 (indoor locations). We offer battery-operated systems for areas where electrical outlets are not available.
I'm interested in booking you, but we haven't confirmed a venue yet. Should we still contact you?
What ensemble would you recommend for our event?
Consider your budget, timing and your vision. If you're having a small event, are looking to keep things simple, or the event is happening soon, we recommend our duo. If you absolutely want something impressive or dramatic, we suggest our string quartet which we consider a reduced orchestra. If you want a bigger sound than a duo without the cost of the quartet, we strongly suggest going with our trio which is a very happy medium :)
I have a list of songs I would love for you to play -- will you be able to perform them?
We highly recommend checking out our repertoire first! We're confident you'll find many songs you know and love. If there are titles on your wishlist that are not in our catalog, we can learn up to a certain amount on the house, depending on how early you book us and share the songs with us. We're always looking to learn new pieces! A whopping 60% of the songs in our repertoire have been requested by our clients. We've gotten fun and refreshing song requests that include music from The Beatles, Juan Luis Guerra, Queen, Game of Thrones, Bad Bunny and even the theme for "The Office"
